The Z3 Conference brings Jews from across the political and religious spectrum together to explore Israel, Zionism, identity, and the future of Jewish life. Z3@ brings that spirit to your community. Built by your JCC and shaped by the questions and voices that matter most here.

Join us for the 2nd annual Z3@Tucson conference, one of several Z3@ gatherings taking place in communities across the country. Z3 creates space for Jews to explore the questions that shape our identity, our relationship with Israel, and our shared Jewish future—through dialogue, curiosity, and a diversity of perspectives. Together, we’ll ask:

• What can our Jewish story teach us about navigating challenging and uncertain moments?

• What does it mean to be an American Jew in this moment?

• How can we tell our Jewish story in ways that feel meaningful and relevant today?

GAMING TOWARD A SHARED FUTURE with Barak Sella of Tzomet Games - After a brief introduction to Tzomet Games, let's play! Using a scenario crafted by best-selling author, Dara Horn, we will examine multiple possible futures for American Jewry in 2050 and the key decisions that could shape them.

HOW DO WE TELL OUR STORY TODAY? - In this panel, hear from thought leaders in the Jewish world about how we teach and help participants find meaning in our Jewish story. Panelists include Rabbi Rachel Bovitz (Executive Director of the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning), Jessica McCormick (Director of Family Experience, PJ Library), Betzy Lynch (Lawrence Family JCC of San Diego CEO + President)

CONSTRUCTIVE ARGUING - IT'S GOOD FOR THE SOUL with Dr. Molly Dunn (JPSA's Education Associate) and Shay Oren (Weintraub Israel Center Senior Community Shaliach) - In this workshop, learn concrete skills for engaging in constructive arguing, based on the methodology of For the Sake of the Argument. Following a brief presentation, we will work through multiple scenarios relevant to today's climate.

MY STORY, OUR STORY with Chloe Loos (Tucson J Director of Arts + Culture) - Using David's Cards, a visual, thought-provoking tool created by Yoni Alon, participants will consider their own Jewish story and how that story fits into the idea of global Jewish peoplehood. The session will be interactive.

CLAY + CONVERSATION with Noa Gidon + Zoë Sherman - As you craft a guided, simple clay project, reflect and discuss your hopes for Israel and your relationship with Israel and diaspora Jews.

Lunch: includes chicken or vegan shwarma over a bed of rice, Israeli salad, pita, hummus and matboucha; plus baklava for dessert. Food is prepared by Asher Amar, under the supervision of Rabbi Billy Lewkowicz .
